What are Dooap Analytics Power BI reports, how to access them and to use them?
Microsoft Power BI is widely recognized as a powerful data visualization tool within the Microsoft Power Platform. However, its capabilities extend beyond visualization, encompassing data maintenance, collection, and comprehensive analysis—essential features that make Power BI an invaluable tool for businesses.
Dooap uses Power BI to create and maintain detailed reports for our clients, which we refer to as Dooap Analytics.
Important Note on Licensing
To access Dooap Analytics, each user must have a Power BI Pro license. For more details, please visit Microsoft's Power BI pricing page.
Getting Started with Dooap Analytics
The Dooap Team handles the deployment of Dooap Analytics reports as part of the customer onboarding process.
Granting Access to Reports
Access to the reports is managed by the Dooap Team:
-
During Onboarding: The agreed-upon users will be granted access during the initial setup phase.
-
For Additional Users: If you need to grant access to new users later, please contact Dooap at support@dooap.com. Include the user’s name and AD account email address in your request.
Accessing the Reports
Once access has been granted, users can view the reports directly from D365/AX2012 main page, by clicking Dooap PowerBI.
When accessing the reports for the first time, users are required to set up the Microsoft Authenticator.
Ongoing authentication will be required each time the reports are accessed.
If a user’s authentication device is changed, please refer to the instructions: Resetting Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
Navigating
The left-side panel contains different categories that group related reports:
- AP Tools
- CFO Dashboard
- Vendor Analytics
- Process Automation
- Procurement Analytics.
Clicking on a category name displays the associated reports in the center of the screen.
Each report’s name is listed along with a question mark icon. Clicking the question mark icon provides a detailed description of the report’s purpose and contents.
Reports
Each report in Dooap Analytics is unique, with some featuring lists, others showcasing graphs, and many combining both.
Reports are equipped with filters, which are displayed at the top of the report. The filters available will vary depending on the report’s purpose and design. Additionally, the top panel includes options for sharing and exporting the data.
To switch to a different report or return to the main page, click the three-line menu on the left side of the screen.
💡Please note that the reports are not updated in real-time. Instead, updates occur several times a day. You can check the timestamp of the most recent update at the top of the screen "Data updated."
