What is the schedule for version updates in Dooap? What is included in the customers responsibilities regarding the releases?
We continuously strive to enhance our software and deliver the best user experience.
New features and fixes are published simultaneously for customers in Dooap version releases and patch releases.
- A version release refers to a pre-scheduled update that introduces new features, improvements, and fixes to the software’s functionality. See timeline below.
- A patch release is a smaller update aimed at fixing bugs, enhancing security, or addressing minor issues without introducing major new features.
- Occasionally, patch releases may be needed and they are completed outside of the regular version release timeline. These patches are scheduled and communicated separately as needed.
- A patch release may apply to the Dooap web application, the Dooap-D365 package, or both.
- Patch notes describe the content each completed patch.
TIMELINE
Each version release undergoes a thorough Dooap internal quality assurance process and is then delivered to all customer UAT environments with detailed release notes.

RELEASE PROCESS
When a new Dooap release is available, customers are required to deploy the new Dooap-D365/AX package to customer's D365/AX UAT and PROD environment. The package will be delivered to customer's technical contacts. See below more details about the process and responsibilities.
Deployment Notifications and Requirements
The defined Customer key-user contacts will receive a notification when the Dooap web app version is delivered to Dooap UAT and and when the new Dooap web app version has been delivered to the Dooap PROD.
The defined Customer technical contacts will receive the new Dooap-D365/AX-package to be deployed to Customer's D365/AX environment. It is crucial to install the latest package to ensure optimal functionality of Dooap.
UAT and PROD Deployment
Customers should prioritize deploying the package to their D365/AX UAT environment promptly. In addition, the PROD update should be scheduled for the designated production release date.
In the event of any critical issues discovered during UAT, Dooap may reschedule the production deployment to a backup date defined in the timeline.
Important: Customers are responsible for validating their own test cases scenarios with every Dooap version release, regardless of whether they deploy the new package to their D365/AX environment or not.
Special Note for AX2012 Installations
For AX2012 installations, the updated model will be delivered in collaboration with the designated AX2012 partner, ensuring a smooth deployment process in both UAT and PROD environments.
D365 SERVICE UPDATES AND DOOAP
Dooap follows the update policy of Microsoft D365 and is compatible with the D365 versions that are officially supported by Microsfot, i.e. with the D365 versions that are no older than one service update.
The support schedule for new D365 versions is listed in the timeline above. The D365 service update policy is available at Microsoft Learn portal.
